Today we had lesson 3 in Financial Maths after correcting the homework we looked at Depreciation questions in Section 5.2. Class notes are uploaded (click here).
HW is to prepare for tomorrows test on Sequences and Series. Today we continued with Financial Maths section 5.2 looking at Examples 3, 4 and 5.
HW is 5.1 Q. 13-14. Class notes and HW solutions are uploaded (click here) We started Chapter 5 Financial Maths. We looked at Section 5.1 Examples 1-3.

We have decided that next Thursday we will have the Chapter Test on Sequences and Series. HW is to prepare for test by - reviewing notes and questions, make out revision notes, try Q.4 in the advanced revision section. Advance Revision Q.4 solution uploaded (Click here) Today we reviewed the HW questions (Click here). We then prepared the core revision questions which are for tonight's HW. Today we corrected the HW on Sum of Geometric Series and proceeded to look at Q.11 Ex. 4.5. We then started Section 4.6 "Revisiting Number Patterns" we did example 1 from this section looking at a cubic pattern - involving 1st, 2nd and 3rd differences.

Today in class we looked over yesterdays HW - see yesterdays blog for solutions. As it was the last class before the midterm no new topic was started. No HW given.
The students gave valuable feedback in their 'maths journals' regarding - The website, the blog, Cornell notes, and online feedback. Later in the day 8 students volunteered to partake in a focus group, your contributions are much appreciated. Wishing you all a very happy midterm. |
